Our hobby horse breeding began in 2004 with the import of the first four American miniature horses directly from their country of origin, America. Our horses have been the first representatives of this breed in Slovenia. From year to year we have acquired new experiences and knowledge, and finally found where we keep our thinking and how we deal with the horses: the only way is natural horsemanship, we start with first steps of Parelli and we are supporters of baerfoot. For this purpose, has begun holding the growth in our modern stable with all elements of the active stable. Otherwise we are just emerging, but we are not yet running out of ideas, and every day we learn and we want to involve in our complex the latest knowledge and behavior in the field of natural horsemanship. Now with our small horses are two "big sized" horses, which are extremely nice and understanding are the real friends.
Our small farm located in middle Europa, in Slovenia. Slovenia is one of the youngest and smallest European countries. Its Independence dates from 1991. Before that it was the norther most republic of Yugoslavia. Geographycally, it borders Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. It includes a part of the Alps and also has some 40 Kilometres of coastline on the Adriatic; a joke goes that if all the Slovenes went to the seaside at once they could only stand there on one foot. Nevertheless, it is a Mediterranean country and the Slovenes are proud of our sea. The political, cultural and comercial capital of Slovenia is Ljubljana.
Here is presentation movie from Slovenia.
In the picturesque Karst region of Slovenia, in the heart of a green oasis under the azure Mediterranean sky, in the shade of century-old lime trees and oaks, and just a stone’s throw from the Slovenian–Italian border lies the Lipica Stud Farm – the cradle of the Lipizzaner horse. The stud farm was founded in 1580 and, today, it is a jewel among the cultural and historical monuments of the Republic of Slovenia. For over four centuries, the Lipica Stud Farm has nurtured the tradition of breeding and selecting thoroughbred horses. In the period after World War II Lipica established its own classical riding school and has successfully performed with its horses at various equestrian events all over the world.
Today, Lipica is a world famous recreational centre with a hint of tradition, offering its visitors unforgettable moments of relaxation. Here at Lipica we have two hotels: Hotel Maestoso and Hotel Klub, a golf course, tennis courts, mini golf, saunas, swimming pool, gym, casino and, on top of all that, our herd of noble and proud white beauties from the Karst, residing in their historic stables and nurtured throughout the centuries.
Enjoy the unspoilt nature, riding lessons on the back of amazing Lipizzaners, ride through the Lipica park in an elegant horse-drawn carriage, visit one of the oldest stud farms in the world and the permanent gallery of August Černigoj which features a collection of his most remarkable works of art, or watch the beautiful Lipizzaner horses dancing to music in the classical dressage riding performances.
